Ongakushitsu Trio is a Japanese instrumental band founded in 2015. Ongakushitsu means "Music Room” in Japanese, where music classes are held in elementary schools. The recorder, melodica and piano are the most commonly taught and used instruments in the Japanese elementary schools. Using these three instruments, Ongakushitsu Trio plays a wide range of music, from classical music to Brazilian. Through their unique concept and sound, Ongakushitsu Trio has gradually become popular on the internet, and has been invited to give concerts all over Japan. In May 2021, Ongakushitsu Trio will release their new album, called “Theatrical,” in which they play their own arrangements of various famous film music ranging from the classic “The Third Man” to the more recent “La La Land.”
